NEWSLETTER January 2009

Hi there,

I'm ashamed at how much time has passed since I updated this site… but I promise to Try Harder in future. In my defence, the past few months have whizzed by - I've been writing for Red, Source (pick it up free in John Lewis), Zest and Mother and Baby, plus my regular column in the Sunday Herald which has a very snazzy, spruced-up look. Plus, I have a lovely new agent, Caroline Sheldon, who's based in London, so I might have to wangle a trip down south very soon. I don't miss London day-to-day but every few months I'm consumed by a crazed urge to be there - it drives me, and my family, crazy!

It's been FREEZING here in Scotland. It feels like they shut the school at the first whiff of snow but at least we've managed to get some sledging in - here's me and Erin, just before the last clumps of white stuff melted away. Preferring to mess about in a hot kitchen, Sam made an outlandish cake - and not to be left out, here's Dex, er, relaxing on a big cushion.

Before I sign off, do have a look at the Waterstone's three-for-two table where, hopefully, Mummy Said the F-word will be in prime position in a big, teetering pile. It's out in paperback on Feb 19. A perfect Mother's Day gift. Go on, you know you want it!
